                Dr. M. GOVINDARAJU M.A, B.Ed.,M.Phil., Ph.D. - Principal

                      Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women is affiliated to Periyar University, Salem. It is the first women's  college established in the year 1969 by the Govt. of Tamilnadu for the upliftment of women. Presently, the college offers 13 UG courses and 8 PG courses in the first shift and 5 UG courses in the second shift. The college is housed on a spacious land, spread over 20 acres. Nearly 3100 students are studying in this college. The college is located on the national highway towards Tiruchirappalli at about half a kilometre from Namakkal bus stand and 15km from railway station.

                 The college has been Accredited at ‘A’ grade by NAAC - 2rd Cycle in the year 2016. The college has well established laboratories in all departments and a language lab in the English department. The building and infrastructural facilities are well maintained. The college has abundant space for sports and games. The library is well stacked with 36457 books, magazines and journals. Hostel is located within the college premises.

                     The college is accounted for 120 teaching staff, 7 administrative staff and 12 technical staff. Faculty members in all the departments are highly qualified, experienced and dedicated in doing service for the students and also for the society. The Science and Arts departments are offering Ph.D and M.Phil programmes. The college maintains a high pass percentage at UG and PG levels with University ranks. Every year the college produces 10 to 20 university ranks in UG and PG courses.
